Artist Bio

Cailey Hudson (b. 2003) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice draws upon her experience in drawing, photography, printmaking, and collage, with an emphasis on painting. Canadian born, Cailey is based in Montréal/Tiotià:ke and the Greater Toronto Area. She currently resides in Montréal, completing a BFA in Studio Arts with a minor in Art Education at Concordia University.

In addition to her own personal practice, Cailey is a passionate art educator. Since 2022, she has worked as an instructor for Mindful Makers, a Kitchener, Ontario-based art school/camp that strives to provide children with a supportive and safe place to learn hands-on on maker-skills. There, she has led children as young as four through activities such as wet felting, needle felting, sewing, painting, sculpture, and overall, encourages creativity through play.

Cailey has also had the opportunity for further teaching experience through internships completed within Concordia’s Art Education program. In 2023 she spent a semester with a kindergarten class at Nesbitt Elementary School in Montréal. Her most recent internship was at the Centre des arts Visuels working with teens aged 13-17 in a ten-week introductory illustration course. Cailey’s experience as a teacher informs her personal practice and understanding of what exactly art can be, just as much as her knowledge as an artist contributes to her teaching.
